Essay contest...

I gotta try my hand at this:

On fine summer afternoon, I went for a ride. It was a DRY day and the trails were in excellent condition. However, about 10 minutes into my ride I buggered a shift and my chain suffered a terrible nick.

I couldn't get the creative juices flowing... so I went for a ride.

You know what this means...

I said the contest would run until next Friday, or until someone reported that they had ridden singletrack...

I have taken one liberty with the contest... I added one award.

I am calling it the "My glass is half-full... OF BEER!!!" award.

It was a close match... Greg was the first one to bring up the optimistic idea that the weather doesn't need to keep you off the trails, but Ben was the first one to post photographic evidence of a ride. So, they were each the recipients of a pint tonight at State Line.

Ummm....It was way too messy to ride any singletrack..

It was a road ride on the CX bike.

But hey...I was on a bike, not a trainer or a stationary bike..

...and, my last post was in fact a submitted essay..

I hit Warriors yesterday and other than the usual messy spots it wasn't too bad.
