2010 NTMBA Fall Camping Trip - Aug. 13-15, Warriors Creek

Post Posted: Mon Jun 14, 2010 10:41 pm

Mark your calendars everyone... it's official!

Come join the NTMBA for a weekend of riding at Warrior Creek Park in Wilkesboro, NC.

The camping trip is set for August 13-15, 2010. I have reserved Group Site B, which is supposed to be the Group Site that overlooks the reservoir.

Group Site B is a tent-only site, there are no hookups, but there is electricity at the pavilion. So, if you want to bring a camper, you will need to make separate reservations.

More details to come on the home page...

Warrior Creek, Group Site B.

This is the site that everyone mentioned as being the one that overlooks the water, and the one that "you can see from the mountain bike trails."

This trip will be a blast! There are 3 seperate trail systems to choose from with something for all levels of riding from beginners to expert, even downhillers.

I called the campground they won't allow campers in the group site so we reserved the closest site available which is in the loop where the 6 Hrs of Warriors Creek was set up just over the hill and down the road a bit. I wish we could have gotten a spot near everyone else but no big deal, the trail runs right through our section. If you've got a camper reserve now! the rest of the sites in that loop are still open but some of the other loops are full. We are site #44.

We should do a big pot luck dinner Sat night, maybe do another cook off to see whose dish is the best? The last trip we had door prizes and everything!

Sorry if there was any confusion, but I was planning on having more detail in the announcement on the home page...

I have already reserved Group Site B, which can accomodate up to 50 people.

I haven't had a chance to ask our web gurus about setting up a registration page... (hint, hint, hint Wink )

Unfortunately, as Greg said, they don't let campers in the Group Site (even if they were on battery/generator and water tank), so only folks in campers will have to make separate reservations.

Is there a problem with tents in the camper site area that would allow us to all be together. To me, that's the best part of these trips.

Brandon NEEDS a 'mancave' for sure. It would be nice if they would let Joe and Greg's campers in there!

The Hillbilly Hilton needs a place to park!

No there is no problem, the group site is cheaper if a big group shows up.

just my .02 but I think we should not use the group campground since the "rv's" can't join us. I see nothing wrong with us getting spots like usuall and just trying to camp near each other. We always usually migrate to one site anyway...

Here is some video I shot of the OVT trail that connects Bandit's Roost campground to the Dark Mountain trails. Sweet trail!

www.vimeo.com/3144137

This video I shot is the Warrior's Creek trails. They too are a ton of fun

www.vimeo.com/3597716

I don't currently have a video for the Dark Mtn trails but I'll get that when we go for the club trip. They are a bit different with more technical sections plus a DH run that is doable on an xc bike.
